We have completed work on the redevelopment of the Elays Community Centre as part of our commitment to enhance the communities we work in. Our involvement in the redevelopment is being complete with Mace, as part of the Battersea development.
‘At Battersea Power Station we are building a new vibrant neighbourhood, with community at its heart. The Elays Community Centre is an important place for many people in the local community and it is great that through the generosity of Battersea Power Station’s supply chain, this centre will have the best facilities. We are so grateful to Measom for being part of this refurbishment project.’
Our elements of the work have been completed by two of our apprentices, overseen by Rikki Wild, Apprentice Training Manager. Billy who has nearly completed his apprenticeship, is working with Taylor, who is only 3 months in.
Speaking of the works, Rikki Wild says
“it is always a rewarding experience to work on community projects! The apprentices have also benefitted from working on the project, it has been a good development opportunity to take them to a non-training facility.”
The apprentices have set out the MF ceiling, fixed the metal and boarded the area. They have fitted 5 access panels and created 13 openings for lights. We then taped and jointed the area. Our element of the works took 6 days to complete.
